Dr. Gitt is from Detroit, Michigan. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology and Zoology in 1979 at the University of Michigan and received a degree of Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at the Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California. He served his internship at Phoenix General Hospital, and residency in Neurology at Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, DC. Dr. Gitt is board certified in Neurology, Sleep Disorders, and is a Certified Multiple Sclerosis Specialist.

He is the founder of the Center for Neurology and Spine, Arizona Neuroscience Research Institute, and Arizona Infusion Centers, all located in Phoenix, Arizona. Dr. Gitt practiced there for 37 years before retiring from clinical practice and joining Medix Infusion. Dr. Gitt served as Principal Investigator on over 125 clinical drug trials and has multiple publications. He also served as a key opinion leader for several pharmaceutical companies. He has been married to his wife Ellen for over 40 years and has 3 adult children, and one grandchild. In his spare time, he regularly plays hockey, enjoys snow skiing, and loves to play guitar.
